Ashley Bird

Age Group: under 4's to U14's Skills and Techniques Speciality Coach
Ashley has been playing football since the age of 6. Winning league trophies and Lancashire Cup with his teams he was quickly recognised as hot property and had scouts from around the country travelling to watch him play.

Stephen Bird

Age Group: U4's to U18's
Steve is the founder of Birlow Knights Academy and has been involved in football since 1999. He has now been running the company since April 2004 when he succumbed to pressure from his team and parents to set up additional coaching sessions and Holiday Schemes as an alternative to the one being run by a Professional Club Community Coaching Scheme. This was done and within 12 months, his numbers had increased to such an extent that he had to reduce his hours at his 'Day Job' to fit in all the extra coaching that was required. Steve has worked as a Development Centre Manager and Lancashire Area Coordinator for Everton FC but has reduced his role with them to Senior Scout and Pro-Club Scout to allow him the time to work on Birlow Knights Academy and to develop his team of coaches however, David Moyes Snr. has persuaded him to come out of his self imposed retirement to run the coaching team as Development Centre Manager and Coach at their newly opened Preston Satellite Centre. With over 13 years of competitive team coaching under his belt and vast knowledge of the professional game and its requirements (along with an extensive list of contacts in the professional game) he is the ideal person to ensure all our clients are getting the best coaching and advice that is available on the Fylde Coast. Steve is currently spearheading the talks with local councils to obtain planning permission for Birlow Knights Academy's very own training ground and is being helped to do this by a very big name in the game who wishes to remain anonymous at this stage. The plan will be revealed as soon as the paperwork is signed but it will be the biggest privately owned and run training facility in the UK.
